I began writing and editing when my husband and I began farming in a cabin in the Nile Delta. Decades later, we live on the edge of the Sahara Desert, just a few minutes from the Giza Pyramids, and have a desert farm for fruit and a nursery for landscape gardening.
In addition to writing and editing, I previously worked as a teacher, specialising in developing literacy skills for pupils who sometimes found reading tough.
Now I write full-time, create educational materials and have just begun publishing my books and educational resources.
Adults and kids — I have something for everyone!
Mad March Hares will be leaping about. Kids from 7 to 10 years will love the Knotty Street School Series when they meet Poppy and her Pocket Dragon.
Be sure to sign up for my newsletter for more information, and meet the kids from Knotty Street School.
April 4th sees the release of my YA/Adult novel Borderlines. Read it with your teens or curl up with it alone. This contemporary novel explores forced migration, moral responsibility, and survival — issues relevant today.
More information can be found in my newsletter, along with educational freebies for kids' reading practice.
Nursery rhymes support early language and literacy development by building vocabulary, rhythm awareness, memory, and listening skills. Rhymes remain relevant in modern education.
In Rime Time, we explore the benefits of these rhymes for children and uncover the story behind Mother Goose.
How many nursery rhymes can you still remember? Probably more than you realise.
Nursery rhymes play a powerful role in children’s foundational language growth. What's more, rhyming adds joy to the process of learning to read!
